Leonard Arvi

Dr. Leonard Arvi is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, Salisbury University, Maryland. In 2014, he was the youngest recipient of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents' Faculty Excellence Award for Mentoring. Each of 12 public universities in Maryland nominates one candidate from the entire faculty pool for this prestigious honor. Dr.Arvi was one of three awardees of this highest faculty honor.

Arvi founded Sustainable Housing & Real Estate initiative to provide consulting solutions to regional real estate community. Students in conjunction with real estate professional offer solutions on sustainability, energy efficiency, repurposing underutilized real estate assets. By partnering with the city of Salisbury, MD several projects in revitalizing downtown is in progress. His teaching innovation includes working with the Securities Training Corporation of New York city, to develop and deliver successfully the Series 7 General Securities Licensing course. It is the second such offering in any U.S. university.

Besides academia, Arvi is a serial entrepreneur. Over the years, created StrategyD, an e-business consulting firm in Bangkok; FinanceTutor, an executive education firm in Miami and verdeQ, a business/finance consulting firm in Boca Raton, FL. He is a founder board member for a local non-profit foundation, Wicomico Day School Foundation. Arvi’s most recent business creation is a real estate development and investment firm in Maryland that invests in student housing and multi-unit apartments.

Prior to entering academia, Arvi worked as IT Strategist, Research Analyst and Business Analyst at the Stock Exchange of Thailand in Bangkok for three years. His notable professional accomplishments include first Thai fintech firm, settrade.com, design and management of online learning for Thailand Securities Institute, revenue optimization for financial products and implementation of the entire IT infrastructure for Thailand’s third largest publicly traded property development firm.
